To understand why the women and children of Jamestown left their comfortable homes in England to come to the New World, I not only traced their genealogies but also their footsteps. Here's a scrapbook of my photos from a trip to the English West Country and many visits to Jamestown. As I traveled, I kept two questions uppermost in my mind: Why did you leave?
